The research area on Soil Hydrology essentially gathers case studies aiming at describing processes that take place in the soil-vegetation-atmosphere system and also includes investigations to determine the soil hydraulic properties and their variations in space and time. These issues are definitely the foundation of the research that this group is carrying out, and therefore affect other research areas, such as those relating to the processes of transport and diffusion in the soil, soil erosion and conservation, hillslope and small catchment hydrology.
